ADAPT

The Alcohol Drug Awareness and Prevention Team (ADAPT) is a student organization providing prevention awareness, alcohol free activities, peer-peer support, and other activities aimed at enhancing the lifestyle and learning environments of students.
 
Click here to send an e-mail to McKenzie Kanipes, the ADAPT advisor, to tell her you would like to become a member of ADAPT.  You should hear from McKenzie in a few days regarding your membership.  You may also visit with McKenzie in her office in the ACES Center.
 
 

Student Senate

This organization provides students with experience in the art of self governance.  Through active participation in the Student Senate, members learn about the responsibilities and duties they share with their fellow students.  The organization brings together various extracurricular activities of the college and promotes interest of the college as a whole.  It fosters understanding between the faculty and the students as well as representing the students before the faculty and administration in addressing various issues.
 
To become a member of the Student Senate, contact McKenzie Kanipes, or visit her office in the ACES Center, to pick up an application.
 
 

Phi Theta Kappa

GCC has instituted the Alpha Rho Chi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.
 
To be eligible for membership a student must have
   (1) completed 12 credits of course work in non-developmental courses
   (2) have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better
   (3) adhere to the school conduct code and possess recognized qualities of good citizenship
   (4) be currently enrolled
 
Students who qualify for enrollment in Phi Theta Kappa will be mailed an invitation to join.  Please contact Dayle Jackson for more information.
 
 

Intercollegiate Athletics

Gogebic Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and Region XIII.
 
The intercollegiate athletic program provides competition for students in:
 
  • Women's Basketball
  • Men's Basketball
  • Women's Volleyball
  • Co-Ed Esports
 
Student who participate in athletics must meet NJCAA eligibility requirements (listed in the college catalog). Click here and go to page 22 for more information about eligibility.
